SuperZoo – A Checklist to Help You Prepare
Maybe you’ve been to SuperZoo before. Maybe you’ve never been to SuperZoo. Maybe you’ve never been to any trade shows. Any which way, be sure to check out the “Visiting a Trade Show” checklist at SuperZoo.org to ensure you are prepared for SuperZoo at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada September 13-15, 2011.
The “Visiting a Trade Show” checklist will give you the insight you need to prepare you for the SuperZoo experience. It will provide you with some great tips to help you prepare for the show, to assist you during the show, and to remind you of things to do after the show. Here are a few highlights:
Before the Show:
- Design a lead-gathering form to research specific products and services. This will allow you to make more accurate comparisons.
- Bring comfortable shoes and clothing to wear.
- Take a light “carry-all” for accumulated materials.
- Make travel and hotel reservations early to take advantage of discounted rates. Choose a hotel close using the links at www.superzoo.org/attendee-hotel-and-travel.
At the Show:
- Collect information that is of interest to you or that might interest others in your company. Request that literature be mailed instead of having to carry it with you.
- Carry a pad and pen to jot down important notes, or use a small tape recorder.
- Write a trip report as you go and summarize your notes every evening.
After the Show:
- Be prepared to follow up for literature and samples you’ve requested.
- Plan how you are going to implement the information gathered.

SuperZoo – Make the Most of your Time!
With numerous educational seminar sessions, hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of new pet products on display, time is of the essence at SuperZoo in Las Vegas. Here are some useful tips to help you get the most of your time.
Have a goal. What do you and your employer want to achieve by visiting SuperZoo? Keep this in mind as you prepare for and take part in the Trade Show. There will be many enticing exhibits and displays that may distract you, but if you have a goal of what you want to achieve and you stay focused on that goal, you can be sure that your SuperZoo experience will be successful.
Do your research. What kind of exhibitors will be most beneficial for you to visit with? What kind of information do you hope to come away with? Research the different exhibitors and find out how competing exhibitors differ. Then create a list of questions that you can ask each exhibitor so that you ensure you receive all of the information you want.
Plan your agenda ahead of time. Go to www.SuperZoo.org and create a free “MyExpo” account. This will allow you to search by product category or by an exhibitor’s name in order to generate a list of companies you want to see. By separating this list into two parts, “must see” and “want to see,” you will ensure you hit all of the exhibitors you need to get to. You can then print out this list and map out a custom floor plan route for you to take to the show. Also, don’t forget to review the SuperZoo University seminars and workshops and decide which ones you want to attend. If you spilt the sessions between you and your colleagues in attendance, you can maximize your company’s participation.
Know the ins and outs of attending. Pre-registering will, of course, save you some time. At the show, arrive 30 minutes before the opening to avoid standing in long lines. Then, during the day, skip the overly crowded booths and come back towards the day’s end when traffic tends to be lighter. Finally, don’t be afraid to tell exhibitors that you are on a tight schedule. That way you can get straight to business or you can avoid spending time with exhibitors whose products you aren’t interest in.
