Alison Schwartz
Alison Schwartz got her start in the pet industry through animal rescue, dachshunds to be specific, in 2001. Her work through dachshund rescue is what brought her to the doors of All Pets Considered – first as a customer and then soon after, as an employee. At a fateful summer party at Kristine Godfrey’s house, Alison casually mentioned that she had been considering a position at APC while her young son attended preschool. Kristine wasted no time taking Alison up on that and hired her on the spot! What started as a fun part-time job quickly became a passion realized. In December 2012, Alison took on the role of store manager of the Battleground location. From that time Alison played a vital role in the rebranding of All Pets Considered, the 2014 expansion of the Battleground location and the opening of our 5004 High Point Road location. All the while, Kristine and Alison worked together as partners to build and continue to grow the All Pets Considered brand. As Kristine decided to start a slow step out of the stores, it was a natural progression for Alison to take over ownership. So in July 2024, Alison stepped forward to take over full ownership of both store locations. Both Kristine and Alison are thrilled to be able to keep All Pets Considered both family owned and local as it has been for 32 years! In Alison’s “spare” time she continues to rescue dachshunds with the dachshund rescue she founded, Doxie By Proxy Rescue. Alison has 2 teenage boys and a husband that all join in the fun at All Pets Considered.
