General Information

World Pet Association (WPA) respects and protects the privacy of everyone who accesses our applications and systems. The information collected from the Website, registration portal and exhibitor portal is used to communicate and assist the end user in obtaining information about WPA and its brands, including SUPERZOO, GROOM’D, petLENS, Groom Curriculum, and WPA Good Works. We will not intentionally disclose personal identifiable information (PII) to any third party not associated with WPA or its brands without specific consent or prior notice to our users.

Information Collected and its Use

We collect two types of information about our customers:

Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you but is helpful to improve your experience on the Site and to track site usage. We may also use “cookies” to customize content specific to your interests, to ensure that you do not see the same promotional content repeatedly and to store your password (if one is required to be issued) so you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit the Site. We automatically track and collect this information when you visit our Site, which includes your: (i) IP address; (ii) domain server; (iii) type of computer; and (iv) type of web browser (collectively “Traffic Data”).

Personal Information is information that personally identifies you. It includes but is not limited to Contact Data (name, address, company name, company address, phone number, fax number and email address), Financial Data (payment information when purchases are made), and Demographic Data (age, gender, type and size of business, etc.). We may require you to provide us with “Personal Information” in order for you to access certain specialized services and/or to purchase products offered at the Site. If you communicate with us by email, or complete survey forms online, any information you provide may be collected as Personal Information.

The information we collect may be used to operate and improve our website and services, provide requested information or services, notify customers about relevant updates, and, when we have an applicable lawful basis, communicate for marketing purposes.

If you register to attend, sign up to exhibit, request information, or otherwise interact with WPA or any of its brands—including SUPERZOO, GROOM’D, petLENS, Groom Curriculum, and WPA Good Works—we may use your information to provide the services or information you request and to administer related transactions. We will send promotional mailings or emails only when we have an applicable lawful basis. Where consent is required, WPA will request it through a separate, clear, unchecked opt-in choice that identifies the relevant communications. Giving marketing consent is voluntary and is not a condition of registering for an event, purchasing a product or service, or receiving requested information. You may withdraw consent or object to direct marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe instructions in our communications or contacting info@wpamail.org. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing completed before withdrawal.

We may use Contact Data to provide requested information, administer WPA services and activities, contact you when necessary, and, when we have an applicable lawful basis, send information or promotional material about WPA and its brands. We may use your Financial Data to verify your qualifications for certain products or services and to bill you for products and services. We may use your Demographic Data to understand our audiences, customize and tailor your experience on the Site, and display content that may interest you according to your preferences, subject to applicable law.

International Contacts and GDPR Rights

Email

WPA does not sell email addresses. WPA will not share its list(s) of email addresses with third parties, except when asked to do so by law, regulation or government request, or on a restricted basis with WPA contractors fulfilling obligations directly related to WPA activities.

We may contact you by email when necessary to confirm purchases or registrations, provide requested services or information, administer your account, verify information you submit, or send other transactional or service-related notices. Promotional emails about WPA, its brands, special offers, products, services, events, or third-party opportunities will be sent only when WPA has an applicable lawful basis. Where consent is required, you must actively opt in before receiving those communications. Every promotional email will include a clear method to unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe or otherwise opt out of marketing emails, your email address will be added to and maintained on WPA’s email unsubscribe or suppression list so that we can honor your request and prevent future promotional emails. WPA uses reasonable security measures to safeguard information concerning and submitted by, users like you. Despite the security measures employed by WPA, you should be aware that it is impossible to guarantee absolute security with respect to information sent through the Internet.

WPA will, to the extent possible, control your personal information, and, except as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy, we will not disclose your personal information to third parties. Although we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information, if required by law, we reserve the right to disclose such information without first obtaining your consent.

Other Limits to Your Privacy

The Site contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. Please understand that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes subject to the privacy policies and practices of those sites. We have no control over its use and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Opting-Out

If you have questions or concerns about your customer information, would like to review the information we have collected about you, or wish to opt out of marketing communications from WPA, please use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us at info@wpamail.org. WPA will record and maintain your request on its email unsubscribe or suppression list and use that information only as necessary to honor your preference and prevent future promotional emails. We will implement opt-out requests as required by applicable law. An opt-out from marketing communications does not prevent WPA from sending necessary transactional, service, security, or legal notices.

WPA reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of this website shall constitute your acceptance of the privacy policy. Policy revisions only apply to information gathered as of the effective date of the revised policy, unless we give you notice and choice as to the changes in use, in which case all information is subject to the new policy.
